We come together on this Tribute page with love and gratitude to celebrate Alan’s life.
Alan’s family would like this Tribute page  to be a true celebration of Alan. Those who knew him will doubtlessly remember him first for his love of family and commitment to everything he undertook, and we will endeavour to reflect Alan’s zest for life and his great wisdom. Although Alan experienced some health challenges later in life, his family feel that he would have wanted us to remember him his best.
This Memorial page allows us an opportunity to collectively say our final farewell to Alan as we honour someone who has made such a difference to our lives and to this world, it is also important to acknowledge those things which Alan would have wanted us to. Perhaps most importantly, this is to thank all of you, each of whom in your own way made a difference to his life. Each of you impacted on Alan’s life, and he would have appreciated any comments or memories you may wish to share.
More than anything, Alan would have wanted you to go on with your lives and to be kind to yourselves. He would undoubtedly want his memory to represent warmth, comfort and humour, and whilst he would understand that death brings some sadness, Alan would also want to feel that he leaves with you a legacy of love, hope and optimism. Let this be his lasting gift to you.
